Thoughts & Reflections

Shirley, I remember you fondly from our days at QUT. You could have put one question to my mother, though, “If Peter’s so immature, why does he get on better with mature age students than his peers? Answer: You don’t understand him.” You were there for me when I needed someone to talk to who understood me. I know that you would have been supportive if I’d told you that I’m autistic (I didn’t know that until I was 35). I will always remember you. Peter.

For my Very Special Auntie Shirley, a sad day to say goodbye, but a day of so many happy thoughts too , of my lovely auntie Shirley.I will always have my treasured memories from my childhood, , spending time with you and your beautiful family.Always, every school holiday asking” can I see and stay with Auntie Shirley”. and memories of sharing, letters and emails to keep in touch, Our distance of countries has never stopped me , having a loving, caring feeling for you, and this will never stop now, always love in my heart for you, Angiexxxx

Darling Shirley, we will miss your wonderful sense of humour, your warm smile, your strong faith and your desire to take everything to God in prayer. I will cherish all our precious conversations and all that we shared. You are with your beautiful Bella now and I know you are safely in our Father’s arms. Thank you for showing us what courage looks like and thank you for the love you showered on us and for the love you allowed us to shower on you. Love Iris and the LFUC family
